The Contemporary Threats against Orthodox in Ethiopia

The way of truth is always in temptation. In History of Orthodox Church, there was not the time at which the church has enjoyed the peace. From about 60 A.D-312 A.D the church was in temptations from the Pagan Kings and Rulers. From 312 A.D to 451 A.D, church has got relative relief from cruel temptations from outside but suffered from the internal Arian Teachings and finally divided the Church in two two in 451 A.D. But after that time, the Church is in temptation from within and from outside. The insider temptation is more devastating because it has threatened the unity of church. During the era of Saints (60 A.D-312 A.D), although Christians had face very strong suffering, they could keep the unity of Church.
Ethiopian Orthodox Church is under high and very dangerous temptation these days. Because all the things are similar to the conditions that were prevailing during 451 A.D. Some of the followers of Arius who had attained Pope title like Papa Lion had arranged to be loyal to the ruling families at that time and they used the powers of the rulers to assault the righteous popes like Deoskoros from Alexandria.
Today also those "Tehadiso" heretics are trying to take the hands of the government as they had been deprived of the freedom of religion. But we will not force them to follow Orthodox Tewahido. But we are saying that do not say Non-Orthodox Teachings as Orthodoxy. Do not interfere the day-to-day activities of the Church. Take your own way to register your religious organization through Ministry of Justice and separate clearly yourselves from Orthodox Tewahido Church.
The Government has also to take care of taking any measure with misunderstandings. Heretics from the beginning tends to make allies with government  in whatever form by making lies and changing tactics. They usually takes the hands of the Kings and Rulers to abuse the power. They Love Power and Authority. But real Orthodox follower does not lie, does not bend to the direction of the wind, does only follow the true way of Salivation.
The real Orthodox is usually calm and serene. It does not go here and there and does not pretend. The truth is always the truth in front of an Orthodox. The lie is the lie and it can never become a truth or can not be pretended true even for a moment in the eyes of an Orthodox Follower.
Our greatest value is in our hands. There is no sponsorship from outside to make Orthodox the state religion. But there are several types of sponsorship from outside for others that works against Orthodox. Orthodox is always preaching peace, love and all good disciplines for its followers. It is the source of righteousness and right judgements. Orthodox is an institution who is working to preach humility, avoidance of wickedness, innocence and all other good things.
We should not make ally with the rest of the powers that are against our 3000 years of our values. We should stand to preserve and keep our values that have never perished for such long time. Each individual has to inspect the situations in his surrounding and be part of the solution.

የቤተክርቲያን የመከራ ዘመናት - ዛሬስ ሰላም ነውን? (ክፍል አስር)

ባለፈው ክፍል የኢትዮጵያ ቤተክርስቲያን ታሪክ እስከ ዳግማዊ አፄ ሚኒሊክ ዘመነ መንግስት ያለውን ለመመልከት ሞክረናል፡፡ ዛሬ ከዚያ በኋላ ያለውን ዘመን እንቃኛለን፡፡

ዳግማዊ አፄ ሚኒሊክ የኢትዮጵያን ነፃነት በአደዋ ድል በማስከበራቸው የአውሮፓውያን ሐይማኖታዊ መስፋፋትም በቤተክርስቲያን ላይ ሊያሳድረው የሚችለው አሉታዊ ተፅዕኖ በወቅቱ ሊቀለበስ ችሏል፡፡ የዘመን ጠባሳ በኢጣሊያ ደም ናፋቂዎች እና አረመኔዎች እንዳያስከትል ብሎም የጥቁር ሕዝቦች የነፃነት ፋና ወጊ በመሆን ዳግም የአሸናፊነት መንፈስን በአፍሪካ እና በሌሎች ቅኝ ተገዢዎች ላይ እፍ ያለችው ኢትዮጵያችን በዳግማዊ አፄ ሚኒሊክ የአደዋ ድል አድራጊነት ነው፡፡ ኢትዮጵያ የዛሬዋን ቅርፅ እንድትይዝ ያደረጉ ጠረፋማ አካባቢዎች ላይ ጠንካራ መሪ ያልነበራቸውን ጎሳዎች በማስገበር የማዕከላዊ መንግስት አካል በማድረግ ከአራቱም አቅጣጫ ቅኝ ገዢዎች እጅ ያዳኑ እስከ ሶማሌ ጠረፍ ሄደው የኢትዮጵያ ድንበር ከልለው እና ወሰን አስከብረው የተመለሱ የድንበር ምልክትን ለቅኝ ገዢዎች በማሳየት ኢትዮጵያየን እንዳትነኩብኝ ብለው የጠረፍ ጎሳዎችን የነፃነት መብት ያስከበሩ ታላቁ የሺህ ዘመን መሪ ናቸው፡፡ ምናልባት በዚህ ባሳለፍነው ሺህ ዘመን ንጉስ ላልይበላ በአስተሳሰቡ ከእርሳቸው ይሻል ይሆናል፡፡ ከሌሎቹ ግን እጅግ በጣም የላቁ ምርጥ የሀገራችን ብሎም የቤተክርስቲያናችን ባለታሪክና ባለውለታ ናቸው፡፡  ኢትዮጵያ ደግ እና ብልህ ጀግናና ታጋሽ ድል አድራጊና ትሁት መሪዋን በእርጅና ምክንያት የምታጣበት ዘመን እየተቃረበ በመጣ ጊዜ ልጅ ኢያሱ ገና በ፲፪ ዓመቱ አልጋወራሽ ሆኖ ተመረጠ፡፡ በልጅ ኢያሱ ዘመን ልጅ ኢያሱ ገና ልጅ በመሆኑ ሀገርን ያህል ትልቅ ነገር መምራት ጨዋታውን በወግ ላልጨረሰ ለእርሱ ከባድ ሥራ ነበር፡፡ በመሆኑም ዳግማዊ አፄ ሚኒሊክ  ጊዜ የነበረው የሀገሪቱ ታላቅነት በአንፃራዊነት የተጎሳቆለበት ዘመን ነበር ማለት ይቻላል፡፡ ነገር ግን ከሦስታ ዓመታት ያልዘለለው የልጅ ኢያሱ ዘመን በንግስት ዘውዲቱ ተተካ፡፡
ንግስት ዘውዲቱ እጅግ መንፈሳዊ ሰው በመሆናቸው ብዙውን የሀገር አስተዳዳሪነት ጉዳዮችን ለራስ ተፈሪ መኮንን አስረክበው እርሳቸው በፀሎትና ቅዳሴ በማስቀደስ ጊዜያቸውን ያሳልፉ ነበር፡፡ ራስ ተፈሪ መኮንንም ገና ለንግስቲቱ በእንደራሴነት ሳሉ ጀምሮ በኢትዮጵያ መፃኢ ጉዳዮች ላይ ታላላቅ ውሳኔዎችን ማሳለፍ የጀመሩበት እና በኢትዮጵያ የዋና መሪነት ሚና መጫዎት የጀመሩበት ነበር፡፡ በንግስት ዘውዲቱ ዘመነ መንግስት በቤተክርስቲያን ታሪክ ውስጥ  የተከናወነ ዐብይ የታሪክ ምዕራፍ አልነበረም፡፡
የንግስት ዘውዲቱ ዘመን አልፎ እንደራሴው ራስ ተፈሪ ንጉሰ ነገስት ዘኢትዮጵያ ሲሆኑ ኢትዮጵያ ሳይበርዳት ሳይሞቃት ነገር ግን አንድ አንድ የዘመናዊነት ምልክቶች ተጀመሩ፡፡ ብዙዎቹ በዳግማዊ አፄ ሚኒሊክ የተጀመሩትም እየተስፋፉ መጡ፡፡ ነገር ግን የኢጣሊ የ፵ ዐመት ለኢትዮጵያ የጥፋት ድግስ እየደረሰ መሆኑን ነጋሪት ጎሳሚ ባለመኖሩ የወዳጅነት ቅርርቦሹን በተለየ ዓይን ማየት ስላልተቻለ በቂ ዝግጅት ሳይደረግበት ሁለተኛው የኢጣሊያ ተግዳሮት በኢትዮጵያ ላይ ተጀመረ፡፡ በወልወል ግጭት በማሳበብ ወረራ የጀመረችው ኢጣሊያ ህልሟን እዉን ለማደረግ ግማሽ ምዕተ ዓመት ደፋ ቀና ማለቷን ጨርሳ የፍልሚያ ጥያቄ ማቅረቧ ለኢትዮጵያ ዱብዳ ሆነባት፡፡
ፋሽስት ኢጣሊያ የተጠማዉን ደም ለመጠጣት በሰማይ በምድር ከፍ ያለ ዝግጊ,ጅት አድርጎ ታሪክን ለመበቀል ህልሙንም አውን ለማደረግ ታጥቆ ተነሳና በብዙ የጦርነት አውድማዎች ላይ ድል እየቀናው የኢትዮጵያ ሰራዊት የሚጠጣው ውሃ ላይ መርዝ በአውሮፕላኝ በመርጨት ሰራዊቱን ቀድሞ ሳይዋጋ በማዳከም አረመኔያዊ ድል አድራጊነትን ተላበሰ፡፡ በማይጨው ጦርነትም የወገኖቻችን ደም በግፍ ፈሰሰ፡፡
በዚህ መልክ ከሁለት አቅጣጫ በኢጣሊ ሶማሊያና ከሰሜን ከአሁኗ ኤርትራ ድልእየቀናው የሀገሪቱን መዲና አዲስ አበባን በ፻፳፰ ዓ.ም. ተቆጣጠረ፡፡ የቤተክርስቲያን አምስተኛው የመከራ ዘመን በዚያ ዓመት ተጀመረ፡፡
የእግዚአብሔር “እንደራሴ” በሆነው የሮማ ቤተክርስቲያን ፓፓ የተባረከው የፋሽስት ኢጣሊያ ጦር የተባረከበትንሥራ በይፋ በመጀመር በገዳማትና የተለያዩ አድባራት የነበሩ በመቶ ሺዎች የሚቆጠሩ መነኮሳትን፣ ደናግላን፣ ገዳማዊያን እንዲሁም በተለያዩ ከተሞችና በአዲስ አበባ ያሉ ሕዝቦችን በጅምላ ጨራሽ መሣሪያዎችን በመጠቀም ከሦስት ቀን ባልበለጠ አጭር ጊዜ ውስጥ ከሠላሳ ሺህ በላይ ሰዎችን በመጨፍጨፍ አረመኔነቱን አሳይቷል፡፡
የተለያዩ ገዳማትና አድባራትና በቦምብ በመደብደብና በማቃጠል ንዋያተ ቅድሳትን በማቃጠልና በመዝረፍ ሴቶችንና ሕፃናትን በመድፈርና ከክብር በማሳነስ ወንድ ሕፃናትን ከማደጋቸው በፊት ያለ ምህረት በአደባባይ በመግደል ኢትዮጵያና ቤተክርስቲያናችን በሦስት መቶ ዓመታት ውስጥ ወደር የሌለው የአምስት ዓመት የጥፋት ዘመን በማወጅ ብዙ ጉዳት አድርሳለች፡፡
በአምላካቸው በእግዚአብሔር አምላክነት ላይ የሚያመነዝሩ የአውሮፓ መጤዎች ክህደትና በእነ ሊዮን አማካኝነት ወደ ሮማ ቤተክርስቲያን የገባውን የተሻሻለውን የንስጥሮስ ምንፍቅና በዘመነ ሱስንዮስ በሁለንተናዊ መልኩ በኢትዮጵያ ለማስፋፋት ሙከራ ያደረገችው የሮማ ቤተክርስቲያን የዚያን ጊዜ ያለተሳካላትን ህልም እውን ለማደረግ ይህንን አጋጣሚ መጠቀም መተኪያ የሌለው አማራጭ መሆኑን ስላመነችበት ሮማ ቤተክርስቲያን አስተምህሮ በኢትዮጵያ እንዲስፋፋ ብርቱ ጥረት አድርጋለች፡፡ በገዳማውያንና ራሳቸውን ለእግዚአብሔር በለዩ መናንያን ላይ የደረሰው የጥፋት ውርጅብኝ በሮማ ቤተክርስቲያን ልዩ ትእዛዝ እንደሆነም እሙን ነው፡፡  ነገር ግን የቤተክርስቲያኗ ልዩ ትእዛዝ ብቻ ሳይሆን ገዳማቱና አድባራቱ የአርበኞችና ለኢትዮጵያ ነፃነት የሚዋደቁ እንቁ የኢትዮጵያ ልጆች መመሸጊያ ነውም ብለው ስላሰቡም ጭምር የተከናወነም ነበር፡፡ ነገር ግን በቅርሶችና በገዳማዉያን በንዋተቅድሳት በታቦታትና በቤተክርስቲያን ቅርሶችና አልባሳት ላይ የደረሰውን ጥፋት ስንመለከት “ሐይማኖታዊ” ዘመቻም በኢትዮጵያ አንዱ አካል መሆኑን ማጤን ይቻላል፡፡ ይህም የሮማ ቤተክርስቲያን ልዩ ትእዛዝ አካል እንደነበረ ምንም ጥርጥር የለዉም፡፡ የአምልኮ አመንዝራነት ብቻ ሳይሆን የፆታ ዘማዊነትንም ያስለመዱ የንግድ መልክ አስይዘው በሀገራችን የክፉ ልማድ ጠባሳ ትተው ያለፉ እነርሱው ናቸው፡፡ ድንግል እና ያልተበረዘው ሐይማኖታዊ ባህላችንን የመካከለኛው ምስራቅ የዝሙት መንፈስ የገበኘው በመጀመሪያ በአህመድ ግራኝ ዘመን በቱርኮች አማካኝነት ሲሆን በኋላም የአውሮፓ የዝሙት መንፈስ በፋሽስት ኢጣሊ አማካኝነት ነው፡፡
የብዙ ብዙ የሥነልቦና፣ የባህል፣ የሐይማኖት፣ የቅርስ፣ የመንፈሳዊነት ጥፋቶችና ስብራቶችም ተከስተዋል፡፡  
በመቶ ሺዎች የሚቆጠሩ ንፁሃን የኢትዮጵያ ልጆች በጅምላ ጨራሽ መሳሪያዎች አልቀዋል፡፡ ይህም ዘመን በቤተክርስቲያን ታሪክ
አምስተኛው የመከራና የሰማዕትነት ዘመን ሆኖ አልፏል፡፡

ብዙ የሐይማኖት መሪዎች መስዋዕትነት በመክፈል እነ አቡነ ጴጥሮስና አቡነ ሚካኤልን የመሳሰሉ ሊቃነ ጳጳሳት እስከ ሞት የታመኑ በመሆን ሕዝቡና ምድሪቱ ለአረመኔው ቅኝ ገዢ እንዳትገዛ በመገዘትና ትግልን በማፋፋም የፀረ-ቅኝ አገዛዝን በፅኑ እንዲጣገሉ ለአርበኞች ትልቅ የሞራል ድጋፍና መነቃቃት መፍጠር ችለዋል፡፡ የብዙ እንቁ የኢትዮጵያ ልጆች ትግልና ሞትን ያለመፍራት የእግር እሳት የሆነበት የፋሽስት ጦር በመጨረሻ የሁለተኛው የዓለም ጦርነት በፈጠረው የኢጣሊያና የእንግሊዝ በባላንጣነት መቆም በእንግሊዝ ጦር ረዳትነት ከአምስት የጥፋት ዓመታት በኋላ በአርበኞች ድል በመደረጉ ኢትዮጵያን ለቆ ወጣ፡፡ በዚህ ወቅት ግን የእንግሊዝ ጦር ከአፄ ቴወድሮስ ጋር ባደረጉት ጦርነት ወቅት እንዳደረጉት ሁሉ የኢትዮጵያን አብያተክርስትያናት ቅርሶች፣ መፃሕፍት፣ ንዋያተቅድሳትና አልባሳት ዘርፈው በመሄድ ካደረጉልን ይልቅ የወሰዱብ ስለሚበልጥ እኔ በበኩሌ ያደረጉትን እርዳታ አወንታዊነት አልቀበለውም፡፡ ይልቁንም ይህ ድል አድራጊነት በዱር በገደሉ እየተንከራተቱ የጠላት ጦርን አሳሩን ያበሉት የአርበኞች ብቸኛ ድል ነው እላለሁ እንጅ፡፡

THE FIFTH & THE SIXTH PROOFS: Christ Is God

Section VI
THE FIFTH PROOF: Christ Is God With Respect to His Other Relations with the Holy Spirit
In this proof, we will present two important points:
(A) The Holy Spirit Takes of What Is Christ's In the Lord's discourse with His disciples about the Holy Spirit, He said: "He will glorify Me for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you" (John 16:14), and: "All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you" (John 15:16). How is it possible that the Spirit of God takes from another to give to people? How can this possibly be said about the Spirit of God who spoke through the prophets and taught them everything and granted them different gifts? How can the Spirit of God take from Christ unless Christ is God Himself? What is the spiritual interpretation of the Holy Spirit taking of what is Christ's? Christ is the Incarnate Second Person of the Holy Trinity. The Second Person is the Person of Reason, Knowledge, Understanding and Rational Expression in the Holy Trinity. Therefore, theologically speaking, the Holy Spirit can take from the Person of Knowledge. The Lord Jesus Christ explained this when He said: "All things that the Father has
are Mine" (John 16: 15).
(B) Christ Was Conceived of the Holy Spirit In the story of the birth of Christ, we see that St. Matthew the Evangelist says: "After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with Child of the Holy Spirit" (Matt. 1: 18). This declaration is confirmed when the angel said to Joseph, 'for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit" (Matt. 1:20). St. Luke the Evangelist recorded the words of the angel to the Virgin Mary: "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God" (Luke 1:35). Who then is Christ? And what is His Nature?
(1) Christ is of the Spirit of God, as St. Matthew the Apostle says, "...for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." That is why the Holy Spirit came upon the Virgin Mary and she was found with Child of the Holy Spirit. Since Christ was born of the Holy Spirit, therefore His birth has two consequences, in accordance with the Gospel of St. Luke the Evangelist: First, that He is Holy and second, that He is the Son of God. Both consequences indicate His Divinity.
(2) God is Spirit (John 4:24) and Christ is of the Spirit of God. Therefore He is of the very essence of God and has the same Nature with Him. That is why He is called Holy which is one of God's names, as the Virgin called Him in her magnificat: "And holy is His name" (Luke 1:49).

THE SIXTH PROOF:Christ Is God With Respect to His Descent from Heaven
(1) The Lord Jesus Christ says: "I am the bread which came down from heaven" (John 6:41), and thus He is the Giver of life, 'for the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world" (John 6:33). The Lord Jesus Christ repeats: "I have come down from heaven" (John 6:38), and explains His coming down from heaven by saying:
(2) "I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father" (John 16:28). He emphasizes the statement of His coming down from the Father by saying to His disciples: "The Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God" (John 16:27). He also repeated this meaning in His discourse with the Jews in the same Gospel, Chapter 8, verse 42.
(3) Therefore, Christ is not from earth but from heaven. He came forth from the Father. That was His original dwelling, and His appearance in the flesh among people on earth is because He "made  Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a servant, and coming in the likeness of men" (Phil. 2:7). But He had to ascend to the heavens from which He descended. As for this earth, He existed before its creation, or rather it was He who created it. Yet, since eternity He has been in the Father who is His natural or rather His dignified dwelling.
(4) The Lord explained His descent from heaven and His ascension into it to Nicodemus when He said: "No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven" (John 3:13). What is meant here by heaven is the heaven of heavens which nobody has ascended to or descended from except Christ, being the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, "who is in the bosom of the Father" (John 1:18). The heaven of heavens is where the throne of God is, because in the Sermon on the Mount the Lord said that heaven is God's throne (Matt. 5: 34). The expression 'the Son of Man who is in heaven' means that Christ was in heaven whilst He was on earth. Being on earth and in heaven at the same time is a proof of His Divinity. The event of His ascension into heaven (Acts.1:9) is the fulfilment of the words He said to His disciples: "Again, I leave the world and go to the Father" (John 16:28).
(5) Christ not only dwells in heaven, but has authority there. He received the spirit of St. Stephen the first deacon, who said whilst he was being stoned: "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit" (Acts.7:59). The Lord Jesus Christ granted the Penitent Thief to enter into Paradise which is the third heaven (2 Cor.
12:2,4), when He said to him: "Today you will be with Me in Paradise" (Luke 23:43). Who receives the spirits of the departed and has the authority to let them into Paradise, except God Himself? Christ did that.
(6) Christ also gave the Apostles the keys of heaven. He said to St. Peter, representing the Apostles: "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven" (Matt. 16:19). And He said to the Apostles: "whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matt. 18:18). Here, we ask a question: Who has the authority to give the keys of the kingdom of heaven to people and give them the authority to bind and loose there except God Himself?
(7) Christ is worshipped by the heavenly powers. The Apostle says that "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth" (Phil. 2:10). The worship of the angels to the Lord Jesus Christ is a proof of His Divinity.
(8) Christ is higher than the heavens and He is in heaven interceding for us. St. Paul the Apostle says that "He ever lives to make intercession for them. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens" (Heb.
7:25,26).
